Seragia |
"Seragia" is a way to surround a lagoon area in order to make it become a salt fish farm. Vertical hurdle walls set against a pilework and bound up by poles and wicker bindings form the "seragia". Lagoon fishermen call "pesca a seragia" ("seragia" fishing), the closing for a few hours of the lagoon area (marsh), performed with nets (paneselli), during the period of high tide and until the end of the ebb tide.
