Artificial islands created at the end of the 1960s with material dredged from the Canale dei Petroli. They were constructed in zones previously occupied by salt marshes in anticipation of further expansion (never realised) of the industrial zone of Porto Marghera. Water flow has been restored and the areas have been naturalised, turning them into habitats of considerable interest for their flora and fauna.
