Physical Characteristics | annual herb, up to 1 meter high. The stem is erect, glabrous, grooved, branched, light green with reddish shadows more marked during winter. Lower leaves are opposite and the lamina is ovate. The other leaves are carenate and dentate with a whitish sheath on the lower face. The leaves that are found near the inflorescence are lanceolate. All leaves are light green, from 3 to 8 centimeters long, with a long petiole. Short but highly branched taproot. Flowers are small, green and have no petals. They flower from May to October and they are clustered in panicles on the tips of the branches and on the axil of the highest leaves. |
