Physical Characteristics | herbaceous perennial plant, up to 60 centimeters tall. The rhizome is repent and from the nodes erect and glabrous culms branch off. Leaves are wide, the upper blade is hairy on the nervations to moderate the transpiration. The spike, that can be up to 25 centimeters, bears 7 - 9 spikelets. It flowers in May - June. |
