Geographic Range it nests in Southern Europe, N-W Africa, in temperate areas of Asia.
Physical Characteristics underparts of the body are bright, almost white, usually without strips apart form the neck, where some dark signs can be. The eyebrow is bright and it clearly distinguishes the comb from the rest of the head. It is similar to the lark, but its tail is shorter and its body stockier.
Habitat it can be found in open spaces, expecially in alluvial plains.
Food habits it feeds on seeds and insects.
Migration almost all the populations, apart from the ones that lives southern, are migratory, they winter south in the southern parts of Sahara and India. It passes in Northern and Southern Europe during Spring and Autumn.
Nidification in nests on the ground, laying 2 or 3 eggs.
