Physical Characteristicse the body is subdivided in abdomen, thorax, head: on this there is a pair of great developed mandibles. Compuond eyes are lateral in order to permit a wide vision. The back is brownish green with bright spots, while the lower part is metallic blue to reflecte the exaggerated insolation.
Behaviour it moves frequently and very quickly to survive to the heat of the sand. The larva digs a tunnel in the sand in which it hides and waits for the prey.
Notes its long legs allow it to keep its body enough far off the ground, this is way it can resist to the heat of the sand.
Habitat sandy littorals.
Food habits it is carnivorous, it feeds on other insects.
