Physical Characteristics | annual herbaceous plant, with erect stem branched from the base. Leaves have a long leaf-stalk, triangular lamina and both surfaces are downy. Male flower heads are carried on short peduncles, female ones are composed by two flowers and are enveloped in a spiny wrapping. It flowers from July to October. The fruit is formed by the persistent wrapping. |
