Geographic Range it is widespread all over the world.
Physical Characteristics green alga up to 30 centimeters high with a broad, tough, translucent and membranous frond. It is attached to the substrate via a small hold-fast.
Notes in very sheltered conditions, plants that have detached from the substrate may continue to grow, forming extensive floating communities. The plants tolerate brackish conditions and can be found on suitable substrata in estuaries.
Habitat it is found at intertidal level, although in brackish habitats it is found in the shallow sublittoral level. In sheltered conditions or in slightly exposed conditions on rocks, submerged structures, in shallow water. It grows well in brackish, rich in nutrients water.
